Who am I and why?  (History)

I am Dan "The Man".

I was born in Nashville TN in April 1983.  I graduated from Hunters Lane high school in 2001.
I am now currently enrolled in Western Kentucky University.  Right now I am majoring in industrial science in manufacturing.
The first time I picked up a guitar I thought it was a cello or something like that because it was taller than me.
It was a small-bodied Lincoln acoustic that belonged to my dad.  My brother learned on I and I tried to learn on it.
The first guitar I owned was a Fender P- bass.  That is still my only bass guitar, but it's the only one I need.
Next I got my Epiphone Les Paul Special II.  That was my first electric and since then I have been in love with the Les Paul.
Not to long after I got a Yamaha acoustic from a friend of mine.
After using these lower grade guitars for awhile I decided it was time to upgrade.  This is when I bought my Epiphone Les Paul ES.
It wasn't the guitar I originally wanted but God works in mysterious ways.  It was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen.
I really wanted the Les Paul Birds eye, and anyone who has seen this guitar knows why.  But that guitar is discontinued,
as is my Les Paul ES, so if you want one, Good luck.
The summer after my junior year I started to build a guitar.  I still have the first one I made but it is a piece of crap.
I used the hardware from it to make the little one (shown in the guitars photo album).  This guitar is know as the Wilkinson Distinction,
named after the luggage tag that I found in NY now inlayed in the headstock.
Shortly before the beginning of my senior year I got my Gibson Blueshawk.  I am so proud to own a Gibson.
For Christmas that year I got the Gibson Humbuckers that now adorn my Les Paul ES.
Through my senior year and the following summer I made the blue guitar (see the guitars).
I don't like this one, I didn't do a very good job.  I am currently working on my next
guitar which is a version of Gibson's Firebird, with a Tele pickup in the neck position, and a maple fingerboard.
Hopefully soon I will have some pics of this guitar while I'm building it.
That's all for now.  Thanks for showing up and remember to sign my guest book.
